About Our Classmates
Who we are... We're the first of the Boomers and
We're the ones that ushered out the steam locomotive & ushered in the jet plane
We arrived at the end of a great war and grew up during the Baby Boomer era which ran, in general, from 1945 to 1964. A lot has been said about Baby Boomers. We're the first? The boomer timeframe is often listed as 1946-1964 and is timed to the end of WWII. An argument can be made for 1945 but that's nitpicking. In any case we were on the cusp of the post-war generation feeding millions of children into old schools that were modernized or replaced during our youth. It was an unparalleled time of transition and expansion for towns and businesses alike. We led the way fighting an unfavored war of our own into a workplace in transition moving manufacturing jobs from northern states to southern and ultimately to a global economy. Steam engines to jet planes, vacuum tubes to semi-conductors, postal service to digital communications we have seen things in our lifetimes that easily match those of earlier generations. And now we simply hope to enjoy the benefits we have earned while we spend our time with family and friends.
Like our parents we witnessed great social, economic and technological changes in our lifetimes. Now, having fought our own war, worked to pay the rent and raised our own children, we have the privilege of watching and helping their children grow.
Over the years we have lost contact with a few of our friends. Navigate to our "Missing" page under the Classmates menu. If you know the whereabouts of any of these people, please Contact Us.
