Remembering...
This subject, more than any other, has stirred up our creative side and set the topic for numerous conversations. Just what is it we remember about our youth and growing up in the West Chicago-Winfield-DuPage County area? Frankly we struggle to keep this subject limited to our lifetime, say 1944 to the present. It's very easy to start talking about Conley Drugs, the Roundhouse, Trinity Lutheran, St. Michaels, Lincoln School and all those other places we spent time in or at as we grew.
But it's also easy to find ourselves talking about the origins of Turner Junction, the railroads and the many changes since their inception. We then quickly slide into more recent times and recall who's father worked on the railroad or at the pickle factory or Ball Seed. Morph that into what our grandmothers or mothers made for lunches carried by family members to work or school.
See how easy it is to get sidetracked remembering? So consider this a work in progress which we expect to take numerous turns as we add short stories or pictures with simple captions.
