11th Annual Winter Event
On Saturday, February 11, 2024, 10 classmates and 5 guests enjoyed some interesting stories and conversations over a nice lunch at Pal Joey's in Batavia.
From the Pal Joey's website; In 2012 Pal Joey's opened its doors in downtown Batavia. In May 2018 we moved just 5 minutes west, to the corner of Main and Randall Rd. In May of 2022 we returned to the original location on River St in downtown Batavia. Pal Joey's is a place to grab a great meal or meet up with friends for a good time and we take great pride in providing Award-Winning Pizza. Our pizza was given 4 stars by Chicago Tribune Food critics and named "One of the best pan pizzas in the Chicago area."
Regarding the West Chicago location; "This is where it all started. In the Spring of 1973, Pal Joey's opened its doors. Though the original owner's name was Joey, the restaurant's name originates from the musical and the movie "Pal Joey."

It was Great to be Together Again!
Our 10th Annual Winter Event was held at Pal Joey's in Batavia on Super Bowl Saturday. We've been holding this event since before our 50 year reunion in 2013. While we missed the last two winter luncheons due to COVID, it was great to be together under one roof again. 15 of us enjoyed pizza, pasta, salad and conversation.
After lunch, Tom Overton lead a brief discussion about plans for a possible summer celebration of this, our 60th year since HS graduation.
Thanks to Tom Aitken, Barbara Alm Mazzochi, Ron & Wayne Anderson-Bauer, Don & Diane Miller Evans, Stanley Korona, Dick Mann, Bill & Kay Nolan, Tom & Sandy Overton, Reid Simmons, Carol Wells Huck & Larry for an enjoyable afternoon. Also, thanks to Richard Smith who stopped by for the pre-lunch conversion but was not able to stay for the meal.

57 Year Virtual Reunion - Small but Successful!
To celebrate our 57th year since we all gathered in the Bishop gym to receive our diplomas, a few of us meet on Zoom for about an hour and a half. As is typical in any social event, someone came a little early and some stayed a little late. All-in-all, the room was occupied for about 2 and a half hours. As you can see from the slideshow above, we all enjoyed the afternoon.
We agreed to do this again in the near future so check back here regularly for details.

The summer after our 50 year reunion, Tom and Sandy Overton hosted our first summer event. They reserved a club house near their DeKalb home and provided the meat for the main course. It was a warm day, so most of us stayed in the air-conditioned building while Tom took charge of the cooking in a nice industrial style kitchen. All participants were asked to being a dish to pass as well as their beverage of choice.
